GSA Activist Camp

GSA Activist Camp

The North Carolina GSA Network and Time Out Youth are organizing a GSA Activist Camp for middle and high school gay-straight alliance student members or students who wish to start a GSA at their school. The event will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2015, from 10am to 4pm at Time Out Youth Center in Charlotte (2320-A North Davidson Street).

The GSA Activist Camp will empower youth activists to create change in their schools and communities by developing leadership skills and building coalitions with other groups. Attendees will participate in a variety of workshops and network with other GSA leaders throughout the day. There is no cost to attend and food will be provided for all participants.

The GSA Activist Camp will be led by Mustafa Sullivan, Director of National Programs for GSA Network. In his current position, Mustafa coordinates national campaigns by connecting statewide GSA networks around the country, including the North Carolina GSA Network. He has extensive experience in advocacy work focusing on racial justice and LGBTQ issues.
