Time Out Youth volunteers work with our Center in a variety of ways. From representing the agency at community events, facilitating discussion groups or monitoring daily Drop-In Hours to providing a displaced LGBTQ youth with a place to sleep, being a Time Out Youth Volunteer is a rewarding opportunity.
All volunteers must be at least 22 years old, complete an Agency Volunteer Application and attend one of our volunteer orientations held quarterly throughout the year.
Volunteer Update (04/2017): Time Out Youth Center is in the process of moving to our new location at 3800 Monroe Road. We anticipate completing the move at the end of May and will be providing updated training for existing volunteers in June, In July we will host our next orientation for new volunteers. Please check back to this site in June for updated information and to apply for our July orientation.
Time Out Youth Center works diligently to provide a safe, comfortable and protected space for youth in the Center. Volunteers working directly with youth are carefully recruited, screened, trained and asked to commit to a minimum six month commitment to the agency. Priority is given to younger adults, minorities, transgender and non-binary people, and mental health professionals.
For questions about our volunteer process, please email Shakira Clarke, Assistant Director of Programs and Services.
