Join us for Camp OUT 2025!

It’s summer time and we are bringing back our day camp for LGBTQ+ youth ages 13 – 24, Camp OUT! Young people can join us on a series of day trips as we journey to Carowinds, make pots at Clayworks, visit the Museum of Illusions, and explore the outdoors. Our schedule will be:

Tuesday, July 15: Museum of Illusions

11:30AM – 2:30PM

Come with us on a trip to the Museum of Illusions (601 S Tryon St #138)! This event is free. Registration is required (link below). Two different types of registration are available: with transportation and without! If you need transportation to this event, please select a “WITH TRANSPORTATION” ticket. Meet us at the Center at 11:30AM for the trip (we will return by 2:30PM). If you do not need transportation to this event, please select a “WITHOUT TRANSPORTATION” ticket and meet us at the Museum entrance at 12PM! All attendees will require a signed permission slip (if under 18, this must be signed by a parent or guardian). This will be emailed to you or can be filled out at the Center. If you do not have a signed permission slip, you cannot attend this event. Please ensure you are on time. We can’t wait to have a magical day with you!

Wednesday, July 16: Carowinds

10AM – 4PM

We’re ready for a day full of roller coasters, rides, and more! Join us at the Center 10AM for this trip (we will return by 4PM). This event is free. Registration is required! Registering includes a ticket to Carowinds and transportation to/from our Center to Carowinds. Attendees are responsible for transportation to the Center itself for the event. If you already have a Carowinds pass, please send an email to Pamela at pamela@timeoutyouth.org instead of filling out this form. If you do not need transportation but do need a ticket, please inform Pamela after registering. All attendees will require a signed permission slip (if under 18, this must be signed by a parent or guardian). This will be emailed to you or can be filled out at the Center. If you do not have a signed permission slip, you cannot attend this event. Please ensure you are on time. It’s going to be so much fun!

Thursday, July 17: Outdoor Adventure

Team Building and Flatwater Kayaking with Outward Bound and Catawba Riverkeeper

10AM – 4:30PM

Join us for an outdoor adventure hosted by Outward Bound and the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation! This day will include outdoor games and teambuilding activities, reflections, and flatwater kayaking on the Catawba River! This event is free. Registration is required and transportation to the activity is provided. Attendees are responsible for transportation to the Center itself for the event. We will meet at the Center at 10AM and return by 4:30PM. All attendees will require 3 signed permission slips (from us, Outward Bound, and the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation). If you are under 18, these must be signed by a parent or guardian. These will be emailed to you or can be filled out at the Center. If you do not have all 3 signed permission slips, you cannot attend this event. Please ensure you are on time. Some additional tips: please wear clothing comfortable for moving in the outdoors and getting wet! Shoes must have a heel strap: no flip flops! We recommend bringing along a water bottle, snacks, sun protection (sun glasses/hat), and optionally a towel or change of clothes! Friday, July 18: ClayWorks

3PM – 6PM

Are you ready to spin the wheel and make some pottery? Join us at the Center 3PM for this trip to Clayworks (we will return by 6PM). Attendees are responsible for transportation to the Center itself for the event. This event is free. Registration is required! All attendees will require a signed permission slip (if under 18, this must be signed by a parent or guardian). This will be emailed to you or can be filled out at the Center. If you do not have a signed permission slip, you cannot attend this event. Please ensure you are on time. We can’t wait to create some beautiful art!
