Join us for Camp OUT 2026!

It’s summer time and we are bringing back our day camp for LGBTQ+ youth ages 13 – 24, Camp OUT! Young people can join us on a series of day trips as we hike, journey to Carowinds, make pots at Clayworks, visit the Mint Museum, and explore the outdoors. It will culminate in a day of camp-themed games at the Center. Our schedule will be:

Monday, July 13: Hiking and Archery Trip

10AM – 4PM

Join us on a trip to Fisher Farm Park in Davidson for a beginner’s-level hike led by an aborist & beekeeper plus participate in archery! This event is free and transportation is provided. All attendees will require a signed permission slip (if under 18, this must be signed by a parent or guardian). This will be emailed to you or can be filled out at the Center. If you do not have a signed permission slip, you cannot attend this event. Please ensure you are on time. This event is outdoors and may be impacted by weather, so please stay tuned for last minute updates in case of incelement weather.

Accessibility note: This event will require a moderate level of physical activity. Closed toe shoes are required for archery safety. Please bring a water bottle so we can all stay hydrated!

Tuesday, July 14: Mint Museum

12:30 – 3PM

Come with us on a trip to the Mint Museum where we will explore art! This event is free and transportation is provided. All attendees will require a signed permission slip (if under 18, this must be signed by a parent or guardian). This will be emailed to you or can be filled out at the Center. If you do not have a signed permission slip, you cannot attend this event. Please ensure you are on time.

Wednesday, July 15: Carowinds

10AM – 4:30PM

We’re ready for a day full of roller coasters, rides, and more! Join us at the Center 10AM for this trip (we will return by 4:30PM). This event is free. Registration is required! Registering includes a ticket to Carowinds and transportation to/from our Center to Carowinds. Attendees are responsible for transportation to the Center itself for the event. If you already have a Carowinds pass and your own transportation and would like to meet us at the park, please send an email to Pamela at pamela@timeoutyouth.org instead of filling out this form. All attendees will require a signed permission slip (if under 18, this must be signed by a parent or guardian). This will be emailed to you or can be filled out at the Center. If you do not have a signed permission slip, you cannot attend this event. Please ensure you are on time.

Thursday, July 16: ClayWorks Pottery

1 – 4PM

Embrace your crafty side and make some pottery on the wheel with our friends at ClayWorks! This event is free and transportation is provided. All attendees will require a signed permission slip (if under 18, this must be signed by a parent or guardian). This will be emailed to you or can be filled out at the Center. If you do not have a signed permission slip, you cannot attend this event. Please ensure you are on time.

Friday, July 17: Camp Game Day Celebration

1 – 4PM

Celebrate the last day of Camp OUT with a day of camp-themed games and activities led by our staff in the Center — plus a taco bar! This event is free and open to all, as it does not require any registration or permission slip.

What is Camp OUT and how do I sign up?

Camp OUT is our annual summer day camp for LGBTQ+ youth ages 13 – 24! Each event (except for Friday) requires individual registration, so you can attend which ones most interest you. Spaces fill quickly!

Can I still attend if there are no spaces left?

Sadly, space is limited! If there are no tickets left for an activity you’d like to attend, please join the waitlist for that event. You may be contacted the day before or morning of if there are any cancellations.

I can no longer attend! What do I do?

Please let us know! Send us an email (info@timeoutyouth.org) or give us a call so we can contact the folks on our waitlist and ensure as many people can attend as possible! If you no call/no show for two events, registration for future events in Camp OUT will be cancelled and your spot will be filled from the waitlist. Please stay in touch!
